If you’ve glanced up toward the sky and thought you caught something odd this year, know that you’re not alone
According to the National UFO Reporting Center, at least 117 unidentified flying object reports have been filed in Colorado throughout 2019. A Patch.com article puts this number much higher, closer to 1,800.
The sightings include spottings of odd lights, disks, spheres,
fireballs, and cigar-shaped craft, among other things. It’s also worth
noting that the sightings span the state, occurring in crowded places
like Denver and Colorado Springs, as well as sparsely populated places
like South Park and Westcliffe – one of the darkest towns in the country.
The following occurrences are included among the reports:
On November 24, one report states that mysterious swirling lights appeared above Brighton lasting for 10 to 15 minutes.
On October 18, a report was made of a triangular-shaped object with lights appearing above Mesa Verde National Park around dusk. This occurrence was said to last for less than 30 seconds.
On October 9, a video was allegedly taken of a cigar-shaped aircraft above South Park for approximately two minutes.
On September 19, a low-flying globe was allegedly
spotted above Palisade, making no sound as it moved about the sky. It
was present for approximately one to two minutes.
On August 25, a cigar-shaped UFO was said to appear
over Colorado Springs in the vicinity of Garden of the Gods. It was
present for one minute before disappearing.
On October 8, a large triangular-shaped UFO is said
to have appeared over Denver before disappearing within 10 seconds. It
is said to have left no exhaust trail, accompanied by no engine sound or
lights.
Colorado has a long history of UFO sightings, with places like the
San Luis Valley well-known among the UFO hunting community due to the
number of sightings said to occur in the area. Read more about that spot
here.
Keep in mind that spotting a “UFO” doesn’t mean that someone is
spotting an extraterrestrial. A “UFO” is simply an unidentified
aircraft. Do you believe? Let us know in the comments.
