British Forces News

The body of Marine James Wright, killed in Afghanistan last week has been returned to the UK. The 22 year old was serving with 4-2 Commando and was killed when a grenade was thrown into his checkpoint in the Nad-e Ali district of Helmand province.

British forces are helping the Cyprus authorites - a month after an explosion at a naval base killed 13 people and partially destroyed the island’s main power plant. Because of regular power cuts, the military is playing its part in reducing consumption – and a campaign’s been launched to save energy.

Previously secret documents show how the MOD didn’t have enough resources to keep investigating UFO reports.
The papers show why the department was shutdown in 2009 – as well as revealing a number of other unexplained sightings by members of the RAF.
